Located at Liberty square, the memorial (consisting of the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, National Theater and National Concert Hall) was commissioned for construction after Chiang Kai-Shek’s death in 1975. Completed in 1987, the National Theater and it’s sister building, the National Concert Hall were the first major performing arts facilities to be established in Asia. Wandering around in the evening provides a whole new view of the theater, which can be a little overwhelmed with visitors. The fountains added even another element to the building’s traditional Chinese style of palace architecture, reflecting the lights and colors of the beautiful building.
